Hebrew Calligraphy Workshop

On 31 May and 1 June, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Copenhagen hosted a Hebrew calligraphy workshop led by Ms. Karolina Kašeová as part of the traditional Jewish Culture Festival. The workshops achieved remarkable success, attracting not only members of the Czech expatriate community but also festival visitors.

During both sessions, the instructor provided an introduction to the Hebrew alphabet, Hebrew typography, and the historical development of Hebrew script. The main part of the workshop focused on practical Hebrew calligraphy. Participants had the opportunity to experiment with calligraphy ink, pens, and brushes while trying various styles of Hebrew writing. The objective was for each participant to create and take home their own calligraphic artwork. No prior knowledge of Hebrew script was required.
