Czech Film Night in Husets Biograf on October 7, 2025: “THE GARDENER'S YEAR (2024)”

The Embassy of the Czech Republic cordially invited you to the Czech Film Night, which took place on Tuesday, the 7th of October 2025 at 7:30 p.m. in Husets Biograf, Rådshusstræde 13, Copenhagen K.
For the October screening, we have chosen the film "The Gardener's Year (2024)", directed by Jiří Havelka. The film balances on the edge of the bizarre, absurd and tragicomedy, it is inspired by a true story and the book written by Karel Čapek.
After the screening, there was a discussion with the director, as Jiří Havelka accepted our invitation and flew to Copenhagen in person.
About the film: At the foot of a picturesque hill, a gardener (Oldřich Kaiser) lives with his wife, who take care of their small garden. Their idyllic life is disrupted when a new owner is about to settle in a nearby castle, who wants to transform the landscape according to his ideas.
