Concert of the Czech Bluegrass Band New Aliquot – 24 January 2026 at 18:00

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Copenhagen and the association vKodani.cz warmly invited you to a concert of the Czech bluegrass, new acoustic and folk band “New Aliquot.”

Do you remember who completely unexpectedly opened the second day of the presidential election and delivered a truly perfect acoustic music experience? That was them! On 24 January 2026, the Ambassador’s residence at Ryvangs Allé 14 in Copenhagen transformed into a cozy corner of the Appalachian Mountains.

The audience had the honor of hosting the incredible Czech bluegrass band New Aliquot, who brought much‑needed musical warmth to Denmark’s cold and snowy January. From heartfelt Czech lyrics to energetic English classics, they proved that great music knows no borders. Whether the audience were lifelong bluegrass fans or newcomers to the world of the “high lonesome sound,” the performance by New Aliquot was a masterclass in acoustic artistry.

About New Aliquot
New Aliquot performs bluegrass, new acoustic, and folk music. Their repertoire includes original songs, instrumental pieces, and special arrangements of lesser-known roots music tracks. The band was formed in 2016, when Pavel Duda (double bass, guitar, vocals) joined the trio of Ondra Kozák (guitar, violin, vocals), Vítek Hanulík (mandolin, guitar, vocals), and Karel Začal (dobro, vocals), all former members of the band Křeni (#1 European Bluegrass Band at the La Roche Bluegrass Festival 2009). The members of New Aliquot have extensive experience performing with many acclaimed bands and music professionals. In 2019, the group won 2nd place in the band competition at the bluegrass festival in La Roche-sur-Foron, France, and in the same year released their debut album It Takes Time. Their second album, Keep Going — mostly original and half instrumental — was released in 2024. Every year, the band organizes music workshops in the Jeseníky Mountains: “Zlatohorská hudební horečka” and “Bluegrass Vegas.”
