Concert to mark 100 years of diplomatic relations

On 14 May 2019, a classical music concert to celebrate 100 years of diplomatic relations between Czechoslovakia and Denmark, took place at Christians Kirke in Copenhagen.
Ambassador of the Czech Republic Radek Pech, Deputy Ambassador of Slovakia Viera Motešická and State Secretary for Foreign Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Jonas Bering Liisberg commemorated the anniversary in their speeches. They particularly mentioned the history of Czech/Slovak- Danish diplomatic relations and successful development of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic on the international political scene after 1989, respectively 1993. The Danish representative highlighted the successful functioning of the legal state, shared values and the cooperation of three countries in the EU and NATO after the Velvet Revolution as well as the Velvet Divorce.

The pieces by Czech (Josef Suk, Bedřich Smetana), Danish (Jacob Gade, Niels Gade) and international composers (L. van Beethoven, Astor Piazzolla, Pablo de Sarasate) were performed by excellent Czech violinist Lada Vester Fedorová, who currently lives in Jutland, and pianist Lucie Kaucká.
A high number of diplomats, Czech and Slovak compatriots, Danish personalities and the public attended the concert.
