The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bogotá announces the opening of the call for development cooperation projects in Panama, Costa Rica, and accredited Caribbean countries for the year 2027.
The overall objective of these projects is to support local entities (NGOs, associations, local educational, social and health institutions, etc.) in their efforts to eradicate poverty, in line with the UN 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals. More information on the strategic framework and thematic priorities of the Czech Republic’s International Development Cooperation can be found at www.mzv.gov.cz/aid.
The financial contribution for a project ranges between CZK 250,000 and CZK 500,000. This amount includes a reserve for exchange rate fluctuations corresponding to 5% of the contribution. In practice, the maximum grant amount is CZK 476,190.48, while the exchange-rate reserve amounts to CZK 23,809.52, for a total of CZK 500,000. The reserve may be used exclusively to cover duly justified exchange-rate differences.
Support costs (mainly salaries and per diems of the project manager and administrative staff, as well as insurance and vaccination costs, translation expenses, bank charges, publicity expenses, etc.) must not exceed 8% of the Czech Republic’s contribution.
Project funds may not be used to cover the implementing entity’s overhead expenses, such as office rent, utilities, accounting services, internet, etc.
The requested amount must be specified in both CZK and USD, based on the current exchange rate.
Selected projects will be implemented between March and October 2027. All project activities must be completed no later than 31 October 2027.
During the selection process, consideration will also be given to whether the project intends to incorporate Czech technologies or tools.
Projects must be submitted in English, exclusively using the attached application form, which must be signed and submitted electronically to the Embassy (signed and scanned) no later than Friday, 30 October 2026. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
The application form must be accompanied by a document proving the entity’s registration with the relevant authority and a document confirming that the legal representative is authorized to act on behalf of the entity. Only project proposals from entities duly registered in Panama, Costa Rica, or the accredited Caribbean country, as applicable, will be accepted.
Email for project submissions: bogota.commerce@mzv.gov.cz. Please indicate “Cooperation Project” in the subject line.
The Embassy of the Czech Republic will contact only the selected applicants before 31 January 2027.
Should a project be awarded to an applicant organization, full administrative management of the project will be required, including accurate periodic and final technical and financial reporting, strict compliance with the project timeline and budget structure, as well as smooth communication and prompt responses to any inquiries from the Embassy.
