Kateřina Fialková Appointed Czech Republic Ambassador to Liechtenstein

Kateřina Fialková, ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Swiss Confederation, is the new and historically third accredited Czech ambassador to the Principality of Liechtenstein. A letter of credence was handed over to His Serene Highness Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein in Vaduz on 21 November 2019.

The main topic discussed on the occasion was the current state of relations between Czechia and Liechtenstein and the ways to deepen them further. Both state representatives have agreed that, despite the inherited historical burden, they consider developments to date, i.e. since the establishment of diplomatic contact in 2009, to be constructive and beneficial and are interested in identifying areas for further co-operation on both bilateral and international bases.

In this regard, the field of education offers significant potential as confirmed by the visit of Liechtenstein Minister of the Interior, Education and Environment, Dominique Hasler, to Prague on 14 and 15 November 2019. The ambassador also spoke with the Prince about the EEA and Norway Grants to which Liechtenstein contributes and which offer grounds for new bilateral projects in education and culture alike.

During her visit to Vaduz, the ambassador also met with EEA and Norway Grants coordinators, and learnt about activities of the Liechtenstein Languages company, promoting new methods of language teaching and learning.
