Information about the currently available visa application slots for students.
The embassy hereby informs that due to limited operational capacities, the embassy is only accepting up to maximum number of student visa applications per month which is max. 15 slots for long-term visa/residence applicants in government programs (Government Scholarships, "Zrychlená procedura" and Režim student"), max. 5 slots for any other long-term visa/residence study applicants, max. 10 slots for Schengen visa applicants in Erasmus programs and max. 10 slots for all the other Schengen study applicants.
Average waiting time for a visa appointment is currently around 2-3 months for those students who would apply for a visa appointment until June 1, 2026.
For those who would apply for a visa appointment after June 1, 2026 their visa appointment requests will be accommodated gradually whenever there are any new slots available or if there are any cancellations from previous students. In other words, there is no guarantee the applicants who have applied for a visa appointment after June 1, 2026 will be given the appointment on time so that their visa application is processed before their intended date of arrival in the Czech Republic.
When applying for a visa appointment you must strictly follow the instructions on our website. If not, your request will be excluded and ignored as the embassy receives hundreds of requests every month. All the appointment requests are queued in the exact order in which the email request was received by the embassy, in accordance with the principles of transparency and predictability. Students who insist on disrespecting the waiting queue will be excluded immediately!
NOTE: Students accepted in special student programs: Government Scholarships, "Zrychlená procedura" and "Režim student" have priority over any other applicants based on the priorities of the embassy and of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. As for the rest of the applicants, all the master and postgraduate study programs have priority over bachelor study programs.
