The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa is seeking a highly motivated person for the position of the Commercial Section Junior Assistant.
The Embassy is looking to hire an Ethiopian or a foreigner with a resident permit in Ethiopia who will assist the Head of Commercial Section as well as with various tasks in the administrative and consular section of the embassy.
Main Responsibilities
- following economic development in Ethiopia, Djibouti, South Sudan, Somalia, Seychelles and Comoros
- gathering information, preparing reports and analytical materials on economy and trade related issues in the abovementioned countries
- communicating with relevant public institutions, business associations and companies
- following the activities of the UN Economic Commission for Africa
- translating/interpreting from English to Amharic and vice versa
- replacing the receptionist during her absence – processing mail, phone calls, communicating with visa applicants
- assisting with other administrative tasks as need be
Essential Qualifications
- excellent written and spoken English and Amharic
- knowledge of other Ethiopian languages and/or Czech language would be an asset
- minimum Bachelor university degree
- strong computer skills including working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
- previous work experience for an embassy or international organization would be an asset (if so, please submit your credentials)
- excellent interpersonal, communication (including written) and organizational skills
- responsibility and ability to work independently
