Embassy Supported Czech Hop in Portland

Supported by the Embassy’s economic diplomacy project, representatives of Czech hop growers, specifically the Bohemia Hop and Hop Growers Union of the Czech Republic, and Czech hop breeders, namely the Hop Research Institute, participated in the Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) and Brew Expo America that took place in Portland on April 14-17, 2015.

 

It is the largest brewing conference and beer trade show in the U.S. with 600 exhibitors from 11 countries and more than 11,000 visitors.

Many curious attendees visited the Czech booth and took samples of original Czech hop varieties that were displayed. The Director of the Hop Research Institute used the opportunity to discuss the possibility of research cooperation with the representatives of the Oregon State University.
