Reviews:
“Clownwise delivers a subtly hilarious outlook on some deeply grave subjects…The film wants us to know that despite what is inevitable to us all, we have to find a way to laugh.” ~Seattle International Film Festival
“Clownwise is a quiet funny drama,” David C. Jones, Vancouver International Film Festival
About the Film:
Oskar, Max, and Victor, once a superstar clown trio called The Busters, split over a heartbreaking disagreement. The trio’s performances personified freedom as the strains of communism weighed heavily upon the nation. After thirty years in exile, Oskar returns to Prague where an unavoidable confrontation ensues with his old pals from the past. Their irresistible humor is challenged by the “joys” of old age. After all this time, who will have the last laugh? (2013, Directed by Viktor Tauš, 120 min., Czech with English subtitles)
