Exhibition – 75 Years of Czech–Mongolian Relations

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Czech Republic, the Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum in Ulaanbaatar opened the exhibition “The Art of Diplomacy”, which symbolically presented 75 significant moments in the shared history of the two nations.

Through a carefully selected collection of historical photographs and original documents, the exhibition offered a unique view of the long-standing partnership and the shared, conflict-free history of both countries. It showcased 75 important moments that have shaped Czech–Mongolian relations, and commemorated the legacy of ambassadors, politicians, scientists, educators, and other key representatives of both states. The programme also featured a piano performance by students of Professor Tsolmon, a graduate of a Czech conservatory, who played several pieces of Czech classical music, as well as a live demonstration by leading Mongolian calligrapher Mr. Tamir Samandbadra, who, together with his students, presented his art on site.

The exhibition was initiated by the State Deputy Cultural Ambassador Foundation in cooperation with the Czech–Mongolian Language and Cultural Centre “Koruna”, which fosters mutual understanding through the promotion of language, culture, and traditions.

“The exhibition clearly demonstrates that our relations have always been at the highest level since their very beginning, as the heads of our states regularly visit each other, most recently this spring,” commented Lukáš Janeček, Deputy Head of Mission of the Czech Embassy.

The project was further supported by the Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum, the Embassy of Mongolia in the Czech Republic, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar, and the Central Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.
