The Historic First Czech Street Party in Ulaanbaatar Attracted a Thousand Visitors

On Saturday, June 8, 2024, the historic first Czech Street Party was held in the outdoor area of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar. The event, which took place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., showcased Czech culture, language, companies, organizations, and products. The goal was to raise awareness of Bohemistics and the possibilities of learning the Czech language in Mongolia.

Visitors could taste Czech food and drinks, enjoy a musical and cultural program including a puppet theater, and visit fifteen presentation booths. At the embassy's booth, information about studying in the Czech Republic, studying the Czech language in Mongolia, and Czech universities was presented. Other booths offered Czech glass, porcelain, textiles, and inflatable boats. The company Czech Crown sold beer brewed according to traditional recipes and traditional Czech dishes.

Non-profit organizations Charita Czech Republic and People in Need presented their activities in Mongolia.

In his speech, Ambassador Jan Vytopil recalled the long-standing diplomatic relations between the Czech Republic and Mongolia and emphasized the importance of learning Czech in Mongolia. The Czech Street Party was attended by up to a thousand visitors, mostly families with children, members of foreign communities, and Czech expatriates.
