Reception for the Czech National Day

On October 23, 2017, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar held a traditional reception for a national holiday, which was also an opportunity for new Ambassador of Czech Republic in Mongolia Mr. Jiri Brodsky to meet with two hundred politician, businessmen, Mongolian graduates of Czech universities and Czech compatriots.

In the beginning of the reception, the Czech and Mongolian anthems were performed by Piano Soloist Mrs. Tsolmon Tunsag and Violinist Mrs. Otgon Zoljargal, of the Conservatory of Music and Dance in Ulaanbaatar.

Ambassador Mr. Brodsky in his speech recalled the efforts of Tomas G. Masaryk and Czech Legionnaires about the Czech independence and statehood and stressed that the era of democracy of First Republic that our country had followed after 1989 was happened thanks to their efforts as well. He also spoke about the current economic and post-election political developments in the Czech Republic and the modern history of Czech-Mongolian relations. These are based, in particular, on the business activities of Czech companies, as well as thousands of Czech-speaking Mongolian citizens who have studied at Czech universities and consider the Czech Republic as their second home.
