This year will see another P-horse transport to Mongolia organized by Prague Zoo – again to the Gobi B Strictly Protected Area.
Selection of Mares for This Year’s Transport:
Four Mares will be selected to transport.
Kirá – born August 6, 2008 in Hungary’s Hortobágy National Park. A calm, very light-colored mare, Kirá arrived from Hortobágy in December 2013. At first, she was rather skittish, shying away from contact with her keepers. Since January 14, 2014, she has been living at our acclimation station in Dolní Dobřejov, where she has been busy consolidating her position in a herd of mares. She is now more trusting of her keepers, having made great progress in this regard.

Paradise – born May 25, 2009 in Paris. She arrived in Prague in December 2014 from Safari de Peaugres in France. Possessed of a contact-seeking yet assertive personality, this mare will come when called. It took her no time to integrate into the mare herd in Dolní Dobřejov, where she has been since March 10, 2015.

Primula – born August 2, 2011 in Prague Zoo to first-time mother Hara and first-time father Len (as Prague-born Przewalski’s foal number 216). Endowed with a calm, friendly temperament, this mare takes after her parents in being light-colored. She left for Dolní Dobřejov on October 24, 2012. Primula was christened in Prague Zoo by Czech actress Jiřina Bohdalová, who has sent her this parting wish before her upcoming journey to Mongolia.

Since March 10, 2015, she has been living at the Dolní Dobřejov acclimation station, where she arrived along with Paradise.
