Democracy, the rule of law, and the protection of human rights are inseparable and mutually reinforcing principles that contribute to ensuring human dignity. Supporting and ensuring these principles is one of the fundamental priorities of the Czech Republic's foreign policy. Transformation cooperation draws on the Czech Republic's specific experience with the process of social transformation and democracy building.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Mongolia invites Mongolian non-governmental organizations to submit project proposals related to public life, support for democracy, and democratic principles. Project proposals will be evaluated by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Mongolia, and selected projects will then be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for final selection and approval.

The conditions for submitting applications for grants under the Local Transformation and Media Projects Program for 2026 are:

• The project must be carried out by a local non-governmental organization. This may also be a local branch of an international non-governmental organization with a registration number in Mongolia.

• Proposals are based on the priorities of the Transformation Cooperation Program, which, according to the updated Concept of Support for Human Rights and Transformation Cooperation, are:

• support for human rights defenders;
• support for civil society;
• support for freedom of expression and the media;
• support for electoral rights and political and public participation;
• support for the establishment of the rule of law;
• support for equality and non-discrimination;
• support for human rights related to the environment.

•  The project duration is a maximum of 8 months (expected start date between March 1, 2026, and October 31, 2026).

• The maximum budget is CZK 20 000 EUR (approximately MNT 85,500,000), the minimum amount is EUR 4 135, and the amount will be rounded.

•  The proposal is submitted on the prescribed identification form in English (attached), completed in all parts and bearing the name and signature of the authorized person on the part of the submitter, or possibly also a stamp.
