From September 14 to 21, 2024, a business mission of Czech companies took place in Mongolia. The mission focused on enhancing cooperation in the fields of aviation, pharmaceuticals, construction, tourism, and the mining sector. The main goal was to build on successful projects, such as the supply of coal quality analyzers by Enelex, and to deepen collaboration with Mongolian partners. Discussions also included the construction of modular airports by Transcon Electronic Systems and support for tourism thanks to the new direct flight route between Prague and Ulaanbaatar. Additionally, the mission addressed the planned visit of a Mongolian business delegation to Czechia.
One of the mission’s primary objectives was to build on the successful cooperation of the Czech company Enelex, which had previously supplied coal quality analyzers to Tavan Tolgoi for a Mongolian mining company. A representative from this company participated in the mission, and during the event, discussions were held to deepen the existing cooperation, particularly in the area of technology and equipment supplies for the mining industry. The mining sector holds great potential in Mongolia, and Czech companies can offer their expertise and modern technologies, which will contribute to further development in this area.
Czech entrepreneurs held talks with Mongolian partners and government representatives, emphasizing the role of Czech companies as reliable partners with modern technologies and experience in these sectors. Discussions also took place regarding the construction of modular airports by the Czech company Transcon Electronic Systems. This unique technology enables the construction of small- to medium-sized airports, ideal for remote Mongolian regions. Special emphasis was placed on the Arkhangai province, a popular tourist destination, where the construction of such an airport would significantly boost tourism development.
The business mission also highlighted the importance of tourism, given the recently established direct air route between Prague and Ulaanbaatar, which has been operated by the Mongolian private airline Eznis Airways since June of this year. The mission was not only focused on aviation, mining, and tourism. Key topics also included pharmaceuticals, where representatives of Dr. Müller Pharma shared their experience in natural medicinal products, and construction, where discussions on construction and infrastructure projects in Mongolia took place with the architectural firm Atelier Tsunami.
The program also included talks with Mongolian government representatives regarding a planned business mission of Mongolian companies to Czechia, scheduled for the spring of next year. This mission will focus primarily on supporting and deepening business relations between Czech and Mongolian small and medium-sized enterprises and identifying new cooperation opportunities.
A significant part of the Czech delegation also included employment agencies seeking to recruit qualified workers from Mongolia for Czech companies. Mongolia is one of the priority countries for managed labor migration within the “Qualified Employee” program, which helps Czech businesses address labor shortages in key sectors.
The business mission was jointly organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic and the Czech Embassy in Ulaanbaatar, in cooperation with the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Czech-Mongolian Chamber of Commerce.
