Czech film Il Boemo as part of the EU Film Festival

The extraordinary and unknown life story of Josef Myslivecek -"Il Boemo"-, one of the most prolific opera composers in 18th century Italy, who inspired Mozart and became his friend. Very demanded in Naples, he was celebrated in Venice, then the pleasure capital of Europe. 
The film directed by Petr Václav won six Czech Lion awards in 2022.

We would like to invite you to the 2023 edition of European Union Film Festival (EUFF), which will run from November 16 to November 30.  The 19th edition of the festival will take place in popular hybrid format- films can be seen both in the cinema Spadina Theatre- Alliance Francaise, 24 Spadina Road (Spadina subway station) and on-line.  

There is a variety of films to choose from; from drama to comedy, through documentary to family film. Films are shown in the original languages with English or French subtitles.
If you choose to watch the movie from home, films will be available from December 1 to December 17. The online form of the festival is available throughout Canada.

In a wide range of films, the Czech Republic is represented by the film "Il Boemo" by Petr Václav. The film turned 11 nominations of the Czech Film and Television Academy Czech lion into 6 victories, including Best Director and Best Feature Film. The film will be screened in the cinema on Monday, November 27 at 8:30 p.m.
