Czech companies showcased their products at the FOODEX Japan 2026 trade fair

FOODEX Japan stands for a key event in the food industry, with a history dating back to 1976. Once again, the Czech national pavilion was part of this year´s edition. Six companies from the Czech Republic exhibited their products here. Moreover, the FOODEX WINE section hosted a seminar about Czech and Moravian wine industry.

From March 10–13, 2026, the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center hosted FOODEX Japan, one of the largest and most important food trade shows in Asia. The 52nd edition of the event attracted over 3,000 exhibitors from approximately 80 countries and regions. More than 73,000 trade visitors had the opportunity to establish new business contacts, follow current trends in the food industry, and discover thousands of innovative products targeting the Japanese and broader Asian markets. The fair once again confirmed its role as a key platform for bringing together manufacturers, importers, distributors, and culinary professionals from around the world.

National pavilions again formed a significant part of the exhibition this year, and the Czech national stand was, as always, among them. Six Czech companies were represented there, showcasing their products such as cereals, beer, wine, whiskey, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as frozen cakes. Over the course of four days, the companies held dozens of business meetings, not only with interested parties from Japan but also from Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, and China.

As part of the fair’s specialized sections—such as FOODEX FROZEN, focused on frozen foods; FOODEX LOGISTICS, reflecting the growing importance of food storage and shelf-life extension in global trade; and FOOD x AI, focused on the use of artificial intelligence in gastronomy - the latest edition of the exhibition also featured the FOODEX WINE section. Within this section, world-renowned wine regions were presented along with consumer trends in wine consumption, and the pairing of foreign wines with Japanese cuisine. The professional program also included a seminar on Czech and Moravian winemaking, complete with a tasting of selected wines. The main wine-growing regions of the Czech Republic, the most significant grape varieties, and selected wineries with export potential for the Japanese market were presented here.

FOODEX Japan 2026 once again demonstrated that the combination of an extensive exhibition, a professional program, and practical demonstrations makes this event a key date on the global food industry calendar.
