The main guest of the event was Alfons Mucha’s grandson, Mr. John Mucha. Mr. Mucha and his Mucha’s Foundation significantly contributed to the unique exhibition, which is officially supported by the Czech Embassy in Tokyo. Among the other distinguished guests were the Ambassador of the Czech Republic Mr. Martin Tomčo, the Director of the Czech Centre Ms. Eva Takamine and a group of filmmakers from the Czech Republic collecting material for a documentary film called Mucha. (directed by Roman Vávra, producer Ondřej Beránek, Punk Film, Ltd., co-producer Czech Television Prague; Maxim Film, Berlin, Germany; TV ARTE, France and Germany, photographer Marek Novotný)

Mr. Martin Polák, Dramaturge - Czech TV TS Brno, speaks about the whole project as follows:

“The documentary film is co-produced by Czech Television, Punk Film, the French-German channel TV ARTE, the German company Maxim Film, and the Mucha Foundation. The narrative framework of the film is presented by the circumstances of the "rediscovery" of Alfons Mucha (1860 - 1939) in the 1960s. The story of Alfons Mucha is shown retrospectivly by his son Jiří Mucha (1915-1991), who is recording his father's memories by writing a biography in their apartment at  Hradčanské Square. He often tells his father's stories, his journey to world fame and his harsh clash with the Czech interwar art community. Jiří Mucha responds to the renewed interest in his father's work with this book. In the 1960s, the story of Mucha's rediscovery leading to his present reputation as one of the world's most famous artists of the 20th century begins to unfold. Mucha becomes and continues to be an inspiration for artists all around the world. We show three contemporary artists and their work ispired by Alfons Mucha: American Stanley Mouse, American Mear One and Japanese artist Yoshitaka Amano."
