On February 24, 2026 a special screening of the film “Zátopek” took place at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tokyo, attended in person by the film director David Ondříček and the actress Martha Issová who plays the role of Dana Zátopková.

The screening was followed by a discussion with the film director David Ondříček and the actress Martha Issová, offering guests a behind-the-scenes insight into the making of the film and a conversation about the legacy of Emil Zátopek, an outstanding Czechoslovak athlete. He was a Czech long-distance runner best known for winning three gold medals at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki (5.000 metres, 10.000 metres and marathon).

The discussion was not only engaging but also highly interactive, allowing the audience to actively participate and gain insight into the filmmaking process. We thank everyone for
