On Sunday, December 21, 2025, in Okayama Prefecture, the 44th annual Sanyo Women's Road Race Tournament took place at the prefecture's athletic stadium.
The winner of the 10km race, Ms. Wambui Lucy NDUTA, was awarded with the crystal Cup of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic handed over by Mr. Ondřej Kopečný, Economic diplomat of the Embassy on behalf of the Ambassador.

The awarding at the women's road race in Okayama by the Czech ambassadors in Japan began in 1990, and this year it is already the 35th award ceremony. The well-known athlete Kinue Hitomi (1907-1931), the first Japanese Olympic medalist with ties to the Czech Republic, also comes from Okayama, as well as the two-time Olympic marathon medalist Yuko Arimori.
