The Osaka Marathon, which merged with the historic Lake Biwa Marathon in 2022, is a prestigious marathon with a tradition dating back to 1946. It is a significant road running event attended annually by both female and male runners, including numerous elite athletes, covering the classic marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers. The route winds through the lively streets of Osaka, culminating in the finale at Osaka Castle. Among the three international partners of the Osaka Marathon is the renowned Prague Marathon – the presentation of the Ambassador's Cup made of Czech glass is thus another gesture reflecting the friendly relations between the Czech Republic and Japan.
Representing the Ambassador of the Czech Republic at this year's ceremonial event of the 12th edition of the marathon was Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Sakai, Mr. Kazumasa Kuzumura, who presented the Ambassador's Cup made of Czech galss to the best Japanese marathon runner. It was the second time in a row that the Ambassador's Cup was presented at this marathon run.
