Hachinohe Umineko Marathon is a marathon with a tradition dating back to 1983. The marathon is a local event with significant importance where both female and male runners compete annually at the classic half marathon’s distance of 21.0975 kilometers. The route spreads along a picturesque costal landscape and it is a pleasant event for families with children. The tradition of presentation of the Ambassador’s Cup made of Czech glass started in 2019 and it reflects the friendly relations between the Czech Republic and Japan.
Representing the Ambassador of the Czech Republic at this year's ceremonial event of the 43rd edition of the marathon was the Deputy Head of Mission, Ms. Vladimíra Hirsh, who presented the Ambassador's Cup made of hand-cut Czech glass at the marathon. It was the third time in a row that the Ambassador's Cup was presented at this marathon run.
