
Ambassador's Cup presented to winner of the Daikin Orchid Ladies Golf Tournament 2025

On March 9th, 2025, the award ceremony of the Daikin Orchid Ladies Golf Tournament in Nanjo City, Okinawa Prefecture. Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Japan presented the winner of the tournament with a cup made of Czech glass.
The Ambassador's Cup for Daikin Orchid Ladies Golf Tournament was created at a time when Czechia opened an honorary consulate in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, in 2020 deepening the friendship between Czechia and Japan. This initiative was supported by Mr. Noriyuki Inoue, chairman of the tournament and also chairman of the board of Daikin Industries, which has two bases in Czechia. Thus, another new exchange linking Czechia and Okinawa was born.
Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Japan, Mr. Martin Klučar, personally attended this year's ceremony of the tournament and presented the Czech hand-cut crystal Ambassador's Cup to the winner of the tournament Ms. Chisato IWAI. It was the third time in a row that the Ambassador's Cup of the Czech Republic was presented at this tournament.
Ambassador combined the presentation of the cup with other activities in Okinawa prefecture. The development of mutual relations between Czechia and Japan was the topic of working meetings with the Governor of Okinawa Prefecture, Mr. Denny TAMAKI, and the Mayor of Naha City, Mr. Satoru CHINEN. As part of the trip to Okinawa, a lunch was also held with representatives of trade, industry and economic organizations from Okinawa to deepen economic regional cooperation.
At the end of his trip, Ambassador Martin Klučar laid flowers at the monument to the victims of World War II on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of the war in the Peace Memorial Park.
