On 5 June, 2024, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tokyo held another cooking class focusing on traditional Czech cuisine.
Due to the positive feedback from the last cooking class, another one was held again by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tokyo in cooperation with the Japan Czech Friendship Association. The class was attended by Japanese fans of Czech gastronomy from the Association. The culinary experience was provided by an experienced chef Mr. Leoš Kastl, who has worked in prestigious hotels in Prague and who has been the chef de cuisine at the Czech Embassy in Tokyo since 2022.
The participants of the class received tips from the chef on the preparation of Czech cuisine and then participated in the preparation of a lunch menu. The course participants were delighted by the presence of the ambassador's wife Milena Klučarová, who cooked together with the participants. The Czech lunch menu included marinated camembert as an appetizer, pulled pork with potato pancakes and white cabbage on beer sauce as the main dish, and “Míša cake” (sponge cake with quark cheese layer and coated in chocolate) for a dessert. The lunch was served with traditional Czech beer Budweiser Budvar.
The lunch was excellent, as can be seen in the photo gallery below, and all participants left the cooking class satisfied.
Thank you for your participation!
