On Thursday May 9, 2024, in the crowded hall of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tokyo, the ceremonial concert in honour of the opening of the 2024 Prague Spring International Music Festival took place.
The concert was traditionally held in cooperation with the Czech Centre Tokyo. The visitors of the concert had a chance to listen to two brilliant musicians who are long-term performers in Brno – pianist and the head of the Piano Department of the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts, prof. Jan Jiraský and violinist Mr. Hiroaki Goto who plays in the Brno Philharmonic since 2016 and shares his experience living in the Czech Republic on Twitter (X).

Speech of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Japan, Mr. Martin Klučar, before the concert in honour of the opening of the 2024 Prague Spring International Music Festival.
Both musicians – due to the ongoing Year of Czech Music – prepared for the Japanese audience purely Czech program: Smetana, Janáček, Dvořák and Martinů. We thank both of the performers for the extraordinary musical experience and we thank the audience for the long-lasting enthusiastic interest in the Czech classic music.
