Czech Music Competition, Diploma Awards Ceremony - 2015

13th Annual Diploma Awards Ceremony of the Czech Music Competition was held on 27 November 2015 at the Czech Embassy in Tokyo.
The founder of the Czech Music Competition is the Professor of the Tokyo International University, Ms. Kyoko Sagisaka. Since 2003, the competition is traditionally held in the representative premises of the Czech Embassy, with only one exception, the year in which the Embassy undergone a major reconstruction of its premises.
The competition disciplines were violin and voice. The prize-winning position in the competition is a guarantee of the highest artistic qualities of the participants. The prizewinners gain new perspectives to attend prestigious music schools and many of them actively play and sing in Japan and overseas.
The gala evening was opened by moderator of the event Mr. Yoji Yamaguchi. A welcome speech of H.E. Mr. Tomáš Dub and award of diplomas and prizes followed after. The prizewinners received from the hands of the Czech Ambassador diplomas and valuable prizes among which could be mentioned Czech crystal, Czech music CDs and books about the Czech Republic.
The next guest speaker of the evening was the rector of Tokyo International University, Mr. Nobuyasu Kurata.
The Diploma Award Ceremony continued in the presence of the other distinguished guests of the event, a special attention was given to the attendance of the special counsel of Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum, Mr. Tomihiko Asaka, and also to the representatives of the Toyota group, Meiwa Sales and many others.

The gala evening was concluded by the concert given by the prizewinners, during which the audience enjoyed brilliantly performed masterpieces of the famous Czech composers like Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák and Leoš Janáček.
