On 9 February 2018, the Visegrad 4 + Japan seminar on Brexit took place at the Josai University. The event was coorganised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Embassy of Hungary as the presiding country of V4 in collaboration with other V4 embassies in Tokyo.
This was already the sixth consecutive joint seminar of V4 countries and Japan. The theme of this year’s seminar was „Brexit as Seen from Central Europe and Japan: Political and Economic Perspective“. A number of experts both from V4 countries and Japan spoke about various aspects of the approaching exit of the UK from EU. The Czech Republic was represented by Mr. Ondřej Horký-Hlucháň, Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of International Relations in Prague. His lecture dealt with impact of Brexit on EU’s external relations, namely development cooperation, migration and security.
