June 15, SmartWings flight from Prague to Tirana opened this year’s tourist season for the clients of the biggest Czech airline company Travel Service, who visit Albania. On this occasion, Czech Embassy in Tirana, Tirana International Airport and Travel Service gave a reception at the premises of the airport. Representatives of Travel Service and Tirana International Airport then held talks on further increasing of the number of flights from Prague to Tirana throughout the entire year.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania, Odeta Barbullushi, executive director of Travel Service Peter Šujan, mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Tirana Jaroslav Ludva and Ambassador of Albania in Prague Riza Poda took part at the reception. They highlighted the importance of Prague-Tirana direct regular flights for the development of tourism as well as broader strengthening of economic relations between both countries.
The reception was followed by business talks between the executives of Tirana International Airport and the representatives of Travel Service in the presence of Ambassadors of Czech Republic and Albania and representatives of Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economic Development of Albania. The negotiations focused on the issue of price reduction on airport charges for Travel Service that would allow the company to operate Prague-Tirana flights the entire year. Increase in number of flights would benefit tourist traffic between both countries as well as promote Czech-Albanian business contacts.
