Foreign trade with Albania in 2014

The foreign trade with Albania reached 32,8 mil. € in 2014 and grew more than 14 % compared to the previous year. Czech export grew by 10 % compared to 2013 while the import increased by 30 %. However, the Czech Republic maintained a trade surplus of almost 15 mil. €.
Total Czech export was 23,8 mil. €. The export was as usual dominated by machinery and vehicles which accounted for more than 50 % of total exports. The main articles were cars, data processing machines and turbines totalling 13,7 mil. €. The export of chemicals reached 6,02 mil. € or nearly 20 % of all exports. Detergents and cleaning products alone stood at 2,66 mil. € (in 2013 4,4 mil. €). Market goods represented almost 14,5 % of all exports. Textiles, yarns and knitted fabrics for Albanian “facon” industry accounted for more than 62 % of market goods.
The import from Albania totalled at 8,98 mil. €. The import was dominated by industrial and consumer goods representing almost 77 % of the imports. More than half of them were textiles and articles of clothing (men’s and women’s underwear, knitted clothing, trousers, blazers, suits etc.), totalling 3,5 mil. €. Leather shoes were also among typical Albanian import articles. Their import reached almost 2,75 mil. € in 2014. Foodstuffs represented more than 6 % of the imports which equals to goods valued more than 0,56 mil. €. The most imported articles were watermelons (0,3 mil. €) and dried fruit (0,11 mil. €). The import of plants for perfume and pharmaceutical production totalled almost 0,4 mil. €.
