An open lecture on the topic of the Czech Republic in EU held in Tirana Universities

Prof. Asoc. Věra Stojarová from Masaryk University in Brno, together with the Czech Ambassador in Tirana H.E. Mr. Karel Urban, as the guest of honour, had an engaging open lecture with the students of political sciences at the European University of Tirana and the Albanian University of Tirana, titled "Czech Republic in EU and the Czech Presidency of the EU Council". 

At the UET, Ambassador Urban and Prof. Asoc. Stojarová met with the Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Tonin Gjuraj and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Political Sciences and International Relations Prof. Asoc. Dr. Juelda Lamçe with whom the actual state of play in integration processes of Albania and the current international developments were discussed.  Mr. Gjuraj welcomed the Czech academic experience in diplomacy and international relations and invited Prof. Stojarová to keep returning in the UET. Meanwhile Ambassador Urban, in his exchanges with the UET students, noted that Albania has sided very well internationally, and reiterated the Czech support for the Western Balkan countries.

At the Albanian University of Tirana, the Rector Prof. Dr. Pavllo Kongo welcomed the lecture of Prof. Stojarová and underlined that exchanges of experiences with the European schools and professors enhances the level of teaching in Albania.

After her presentation, Prof. Stojarová replied to the questions of the students, while on his side Ambassador Urban noted that Czechia and Albania come from shared past experiences therefore they understand each other. Albania has the full support of the Czech Republic in its European path – said the Ambassador, assessing Albania’s foreign policy as member of the UNSC and host of the December’s Summit EU – WBs.
