Visa and Consular Information

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tehran has partially resumed visa services. 

 

It accepts the following applications:

○ Schengen visas of family members of EU/CZE citizens

○ long-term visas for the purpose of study

○ long-term residence permits for the purpose of study

○ long-term residence permits for the purpose of scientific research

○ long-term visas for family purposes

○ long-term residence permits for family purposes.

Appointment can be scheduled by sending an e-mail to tehran.consulate@mzv.gov.cz.

Other visa services remain suspended.

In justified situations, applications for Schengen visas of family members of EU/CZE citizens will also be accepted by the Czech Embassy in Baku, Czech Embassy in Yerevan, Czech Embassy in Ankara and the Czech Consulate General in Istanbul, in accordance with Art. 6(2) of the Visa Code.

Provision of visa services is subject to security circumstances.

Important note: The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tehran has jurisdiction to process long-term visa and residence permit applications for citizens of Iran and legal residents in Iran who have resided in Iran for at least the past 2 years and have a residence permit in Iran. Afghani nationals that do not hold residence permit in Iran fall under the jurisdiction of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Islamabad.

Please be informed that entry to the Consular Section is permitted only with a valid appointment.

Exceptions are limited to: emergency situations involving Czech nationals and Schengen visa applications submitted by EU family members - do send your visa request by e-mail. The Embassy will contact you as soon as possible.

Visa services:

The Embassy is responsible for visa services for citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran and for those, who have valid residence permit in Iran with validity for more than 2 year. You can find general information about visa / residence permit for the Czech Republic on the website here.

Communication methods and working languages:

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tehran hereby announces that in accordance with Section 169 of Act No. 326/1999 Coll., On the Residence of Foreigners in the Czech Republic and on Amendments to Certain Acts (as amended), the working languages of the local authority (Visa Section) are Czech language and English language with the exception for interrogations which according to § 16 of the Administrative Procedure Code are always conducted in Czech language.

Applicants for long-term visas and residence permits who cannot communicate in the above stated languages need to arrange, at their own expenses, an interpreter.

The Embassy communicates by following methods only: email, regular post, fax or phone. The Embassy does not use any of social networks for communication.

The Embassy answers all emails, except spam, usually within 5 working days. You will not get any answers during the public holidays or weekends. Please, do not resend your requests or questions multiple times.
