Changes in applying for an employee card at the Czech Economic and Cultural Office effective from July 1st, 2025

Effective from July 1st, 2025, the rules for submitting applications for employee cards at the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei (CECO Taipei) are changing.
Based on Government Resolution No. 415/2025 and the amendment to Government Regulation No. 220/2019 Coll., a zero quota was introduced for receiving applications for an employee card from citizens of states and territories that do not have automatic free access to the Czech labor market according to the Employment Act.
Taiwanese passport holders are not limited by these quotas and can continue to submit applications for an employee card at the CECO Taipei without restrictions.
It is still possible to submit applications to the ČEKK Taipei under the following government programs:
Highly Qualified Employee Program
Key and Scientific Personnel Program
Blue Card
In these cases, it is necessary to meet the condition of continuous two-year residence in Taiwan.
