Applying for a Passport outside the Consulate General in Sydney

The Consulate General in Sydney would like to inform Czech citizens that it is possible to apply for a Czech passport throughout the year without having to travel to Sydney to lodge the application. Applications will be accepted by a consular officer from the Consulate General during Consular Days, using a mobile passport station.

Consular Days will be organised in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and New Zealand (specific locations in New Zealand will be announced later). Additional destinations may also be considered if sufficient interest is expressed by applicants. Visits to the above-mentioned locations will be planned well in advance based on the number of expressions of interest received.

To express your interest, please complete this form. The form requests basic personal information, details of your current passport, and, where applicable, information about other documents proving Czech citizenship that may be required as part of the application process.

The dates of the Consular Days will be determined based on the information provided in the submitted forms, provided that sufficient interest is received. Applicants who are eligible to apply for a passport will be offered a specific appointment time. Applicants who are unable to lodge a passport application at that stage (for example, because they do not possess the necessary documents proving Czech citizenship) will be contacted by the Consulate General to discuss the available options for obtaining the required documents and submitting a passport application at a later date.

Passport applications submitted through the mobile passport station are processed in the same standard way as applications lodged directly at the Consulate General. Newly issued passports will be available for collection either at the Honorary Consulate in the city where the application was lodged or at the Consulate General in Sydney, as selected by the applicant.

Given the overall length of the process—including planning each Consular Day, processing passport applications, and delivering completed passports to the relevant office for collection—we recommend applying for a new passport even if your current passport remains valid for approximately another year.

Please note that passport applications may still be lodged in person at the Consulate General in Sydney at any time.

We would appreciate your assistance in sharing this information as widely as possible, including through social media, community newsletters, and club bulletins.

Thank you for your cooperation.
