Applying for a passport elsewhere than at the Consulate General in Sydney
The Consulate General in Sydney informs that it will be possible to apply for a Czech passport throughout the year without having to travel to Sydney to lodge your application. Applications will be processed by a consular officer from the Consulate General during Consular Days, using the mobile passport station.
Consular Days will be organised in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and in New Zealand (destinations in New Zealand to be specified). Destinations other than those stated above will be considered provided a large number of applicants express interest. Visits to the above-mentioned destinations will be planned well in advance based on expressions of interest from applicants.
Please complete this form in order to express your interest. The form includes sections for the applicant’s basic information, current passport, and if relevant information about any other documents confirming citizenship which are necessary for the application process.
The date of Consular Days will be determined based on the information provided in these forms, should enough applicants express interest. The Consulate General will offer applicants who are eligible to apply for a passport, a specific appointment time. Those applicants who for whatever reason are unable to lodge their application (e.g. they do not currently possess sufficient documentation proving their citizenship or have never had such a document) will be contacted by the Consulate General to go through options for applying for the necessary documents based on which a passport application can be lodged at a later date.
Applications lodged with the mobile passport station are processed the same as a regular application (i.e. the process is the same as if an application was lodged at the Consulate General. Newly issued passports will be handed over via Honorary Consulates either in the city where the application was lodged or as elected by the applicant.
Given the overall length of the process (of planning each Consular Day, of processing applications and delivering the documents to the relevant office for collection) we recommend applying for a passport even if your current passport still has a validity of about one year.
Please note that it is still possible to lodge passport applications in person at the Consulate General.
Please share this information to as many potential applicants as possible; whether it be on social media, in community newspapers and club bulletins etc. Thank you for your cooperation.
