The Garden of the World exhibition by Jana King Kochánková and Tomáš King

Date: 31 May 2025 - 27 July 2025, Venue: Konsthallen Meken

Starting on May 31, Garden of the World will be on display at Konsthallen Meken in Smedjebacken. This exhibition, created by the Prague-based duo Jana King Kochánková and Tomáš King, invites visitors to step into a world of large paintings, ceramic sculptures of goddesses, and lithographs.

Through their work, they explore the beauty and complexity of nature — not just through the elements, trees, and plants, but through something deeper, a kind of energy that pulses beneath the surface. Their pieces reflect both personal experiences and a larger, spiritual connection to the world around us, inviting us to see nature in ways we might not have noticed before.

The exhibition was created in collaboration with Karina Kottová, a leading Czech curator known for her work with contemporary art.

The opening will take place on 31 May at 15:00 in the presence of Ambassador Anita Grmelová and the Embassy was honoured to support the event.

Dates: May 31 – July 27, 2025
Location: Konsthallen Meken, Kyrkogatan 12, Smedjebacken
Opening Hours: Thursday - Sunday, 11 AM - 5 PM (Closed on June 6, 20, and 21)
