On 5 October 2026, State Secretary of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs Miloslav Stašek met with Christiaan Rebergen, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. Their discussions focused on Czech-Dutch relations, current foreign policy issues and the functioning of the two ministries.

Both sides welcomed the excellent state of Czech-Dutch relations, reflecting long-standing shared interests and priorities. They discussed opportunities to further develop bilateral cooperation, in areas such as trade, defence and energy.

Current foreign policy issues formed an important part of the meeting, with particular attention paid to the present security situation and transatlantic relations.

The state secretaries also exchanged experience in managing networks of diplomatic missions and discussed the internal functioning of the foreign ministries. The use of artificial intelligence in diplomatic work and the modernisation of the foreign service was also discussed.
