More about the film
You return to places. To the places where you grew up. You tremble. You sweat. You swallow. You can’t avoid the memories. Some are like vivid paintings. Others hit like punches. A children’s home under communism. Foster care. Juvenile detention. And then the Velvet Revolution. And freedom – a freedom you don’t know how to handle. You fell a hundred times. But you got up a hundred times too. They didn’t break you. Because you weren’t alone. You had yourself. And you had hope. Hope that one day you’d escape to America. Where your father is waiting for you. Girl America. A story about a girl who stopped running.
