At the end of November, Zita Folkets Bio will come alive with European cinema! This year’s edition of the European Film Festival, organized by the network of cultural institutes EUNIC Stockholm and the European Commission, brings a selection of the finest and most recent films from across Europe. You can look forward to nationally and internationally acclaimed films – and a vibrant atmosphere full of inspiration and cinematic experiences.
Girl America at the European Film Festival 2025
The Czech Republic will be represented by Viktor Tauš’s drama Girl America, a powerful story of freedom, friendship, and coming of age. The 2024 film received fourteen nominations for the Czech Lion Awards and won four – for cinematography, production design, costume design, and film poster. It also earned three Czech Film Critics’ Awards.
Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with the film’s director, Viktor Tauš, offering a unique behind-the-scenes insight into the film.
