Piano Concert by Matyáš Novák

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm and the Swedish-Czech-Slovak Association invite you to a piano concert as part of the Year of Czech Music 2024. The concert will take place on November 14 at 18:00 at Kungliga Musikhögskolan. The young and acclaimed Czech pianist Matyáš Novák will perform part of his broad repertoire by prominent Czech composers.
The program includes a selection from Czech Dances by Bedřich Smetana, Sonata 1.X.1905 (“From the Street”) by Leoš Janáček, Love Song by Josef Suk, and Fantasy on Themes from Rusalka by Antonín Dvořák, arranged by Matyáš Novák himself. The concert will conclude with From Bohemia’s Woods and Fields, arranged by Bedřich Smetana and Jindřich Kàan.

About the Artist:
Matyáš Novák (born 1998) is one of the most significant pianists of his generation. He made his orchestral debut at the age of ten and performed at Carnegie Hall at the age of nineteen. This exceptional talent regularly performs across Europe, the United States, Thailand, and China and collaborates with leading orchestras, including the Brno Philharmonic, the Prague Chamber Orchestra, and the Bergen Philharmonic. Matyáš also pursues his own compositions, and he recently released an album featuring works by W.A. Mozart.
After the concert, all guests are invited for a glass of wine at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm, Villagatan 21, which is within walking distance.
