27.10.2023 / 12:37
This year, we commemorated the 140th anniversary of the birth of Franz Kafka and his work, whose legacy is still relevant today. Jaromír Švejdík, a musician and frontman of the Kafka Band, but also an illustrator (aka Jaromír 99), who created a graphic novel based on Kafka’s “The Castle” with writer David Zane Mairowitz, came to Stockholm.
Jaromír 99 was joined by writer Sara Mannheimer and together they gave a lecture on Franz Kafka. Sara, who grew up in Gothenburg and studied in the USA, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic before settling in Stockholm, presented her personal approach to Franz Kafka´s work in their lecture.
After the lecture, there was an opening of the exhibition of illustrations from the graphic novel “The Castle” by Jaromír 99 on the fence of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm, Villagatan 21.
