
Minister Lipavský to Attend July Meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels

Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský will attend the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) in Brussels on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Discussions will focus on Russian aggression against Ukraine, the situation in Georgia, the Middle East, including Gaza and Iran, as well as measures and sanctions against Russia.
The main points of the debate on Ukraine will cover the ongoing Russian war, strengthening military and humanitarian support for Kyiv, and the approval of further anti-Russian sanctions. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will also join the FAC via videoconference.
On the current situation in Georgia, ministers will discuss the EU's response to growing repression in the Caucasus country, including proposals for possible restrictive measures.
In the Middle East, EU leaders will focus on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, developments in Israel, and events surrounding Iran. Politicians will discuss strengthening humanitarian aid to the Palestinians and relations with Iran.
