On 13th of December 2022, a concert by the Luboš Soukup Quartet took place at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm as a symbolic end of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The concert in Stockholm was the middle of the Nordic tour Copenhagen-Stockholm-Tallin. The Copenhagen-based band played their own compositions with Luboš Soukup, Christian Pabst, Morten Haxholm and Morten Hæsum. The top jazz musicians are not afraid of improvisation and have been successful abroad. Luboš Soukup studied in Copenhagen and currently also creates arrangements for the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Ambassador Anita Grmelová began by summarizing the successes of Presidency of European Union, particularly in the areas of climate and energy and the successful unification of the EU's position against Russian aggression and support for Ukraine.
The event followed the successful student event of handing over the Czech Presidency torch in Uppsala and earlier presidency´s events - e.g. Czech Presidency and the Copenhagen Embassy - a study trip of ambassadors from Stockholm and Copenhagen to Malmö and Lund, an outdoor exhibition of the Czech Embassy´s Zátopek on the embassy´s fence, the display of a model of the Terralón country as part of World Water Week and the visit of Deputy Foreign Minister Jiří Kozák, or the screening of an amateur film by M. Grossman about his Jewish grandfather's trip to Sweden during World War II under the auspices of the Minister for European Affairs M. Beck.
