Personbevis as a Substitute for Marriage and Birth Certificate

For various proceedings and applications in the Czech Republic a foreigner may be requested to present his/her Birth or Marriage Certificate. Swedish Personbevis may serve as a substitute for such documents if it includes data according to the below described specification.

1. Substitute for Marriage Certificate
Personbevis must include personal data of both, the applicant and his/her parents.

2. Substitute for Birth Certificate
Personbevis must include personal data of both, the applicant and his/her parents.

IMPORTANT
In order to be legally valid abroad and accepted by various offices in the Czech Republic, the Personbevis must always be affixed with an Apostille and a notarised translation into Czech language.

Apostille is a form of notarisation that is being issued by local Public Notaries (Notarius Publicus).
