Czech aid for Western Balkan countries

Czech Republic as the first EU country followed the requests from Western Balkan countries in the context of the current refugee crisis and showed its solidarity with the most affected countries in the region.

On Friday October 23th the Czech humanitarian aid of fully equipped heated tents for 150 refugees was delivered to Croatia.

On Saturday October 24th the similar aid of 22 heated tents, 110 beds, sleeping bags and other material was handed over to the Slovenian authorities.

Third Czech humanitarian convoy is on the way and will reach Macedonia on Monday October 26th.

The immediate response to the worsening humanitarian situation along the Western Balkan migratory route should be understood also as concrete Czech contribution to the Leaders’ meeting taking place in Brussels on Sunday October 25th.
