For the first time, three Czech companies—AgroEcoPower, ATX-Dyno, and Bednar—presented their products at a national booth during Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, the largest agricultural trade fair in Canada. The event attracted nearly 40,000 visitors from across North America, and the national booth, organized by the Czech Embassy, provided an excellent platform for Czech companies to showcase their products and establish new business contacts.
Czech Companies at the Trade Show: Innovations for Canadian Farms
Among the Czech companies, AgroEcoPower stood out with its specialization in software upgrades for agricultural and forestry machinery. Their unique technology boosts engine performance while reducing fuel consumption. For Canadian farmers, this product offers a smart solution to cut rising operational costs and address climate change challenges.
Another Czech company, ATX-Dyno, showcased highly precise dynamometers and testing technologies for measuring and evaluating the performance of agricultural machinery. These tools ensure accurate measurement of engine, power, and other key parameters, enabling precise assessments and performance optimization. This is crucial for Canada’s agricultural sector, with its large farms and demanding terrains.
The well-known Czech brand Bednar, a renowned manufacturer of modern agricultural machinery, displayed its extensive portfolio of soil cultivation and seeding equipment. Their innovative technology, high productivity, and ease of operation were key factors that draw the interest of Canadian farmers.
Business Opportunities for Czech Manufacturers in Canada
The Canadian market for agricultural machinery and technologies is a stable and growing segment of the national economy, offering significant opportunities for Czech exporters. Canada has nearly 190,000 farms, with an average size of approximately 330 hectares. These farms manage 62 million hectares of land, equivalent to 6.2% of the country’s total area.
Canadian farms face a long-term shortage of workers, particularly seasonal labor, which is driving demand for automation and robotics. Canada is also aligning with the global trend of reducing emissions in agriculture. Farms are under regulatory pressure to purchase environmentally friendly machinery, optimize inputs (water, pesticides, fertilizers), and adopt more sustainable production methods.
According to some estimates, the Canadian agricultural machinery market is valued at approximately USD 6.5 billion in 2025, with projections suggesting growth to USD 8.4 billion by 2030. Some forecasts even predict the market could surpass USD 16 billion by 2033 if advanced technologies such as drones, sensors, and autonomous machinery are included.
In 2024–2025, the Canadian agricultural machinery market experienced a slowdown, with farmers facing challenges such as lower crop yields, high energy costs, and elevated interest rates. However, the market outlook for agricultural machinery and technologies remains slightly optimistic, with faster growth expected in robotics, precision agriculture, and automation. It is important to highlight the CETA trade agreement, which has simplified mutual bilateral trade between the EU and Canada. Its provisional implementation has removed trade barriers, making trade with Canadian partners significantly easier for Czech exporters.
Due to new and high tariffs on Canadian canola exports to China, a key buyer of this commodity, Canada is seeking alternative uses for canola. The government is now financially supporting the development of domestic biofuel processing facilities, presenting additional opportunities for Czech suppliers.
Showcasing the CzechAgro Tool
A special highlight at the Czech booth was the presentation of the CzechAgro tool, a virtual catalog of Czech agricultural machinery and related technologies. It showcased the offerings of Czech manufacturers, emphasizing quality, reliability, and technological advancements. Visitors praised its user-friendly interface and easy product search and filtering based on purpose, type, and other key parameters.
The participation of Czech companies was funded through the Economic Diplomacy Project (PROPED) financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ottawa.
The next edition of Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show will take place from September 15 to 17, 2026. Czech companies interested in participating can contact the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ottawa at the email address: filip.lames@mzv.gov.cz.
