We are celebrating Franz Kafka!
22.05.2024 / 16:10
The Embassy of the Czech Republic and Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi are getting set to seize Kafka’s centenary for a multifarious exploration of his literary legacy, which is as fantastic now as it was phantasmic then. Stay tuned for innovative workshops, a minimalist drawing exhibition, a Kafkaesque game, and an electric theatre play!
We are presenting a theatrical performance -'Giraftari' - an adaptation (Hindi) of Franz Kafka's famous novel – The Trial.
'Giraftari' is an experimental drama that depicts India's current social, administrative, and legal system. The story depicts an ordinary man who feels alienated, alone, and helpless in a modern but scattered society.
Written and directed by Ms. Rama Pandey, the play fuses dying Indian oral and folk forms. Ms Pandey is a famous author, producer, and director who runs Rama Theatre Natya Vidya (RATNAV), a foundation that aims to promote and preserve India's dying oral and folk traditions.
The play will be performed in Hindi (a description in English will be provided).
