New Ambassador of India to the Czech Republic

His Excellency Mr. Hemant Harishchandra Kotalwar is new Ambassador-designate of the Republic of India to the Czech Republic. He will replace the previous Ambassador of India, Her Excellency Mrs. Narinder Chauhan, who retired and returned back to India recently.

H.E. Mr. Hemant Harishchandra Kotalwar is a career Diplomat. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1996 and served at the India's diplomatic missions in Brussels (1998-2000) and Algiers (2000-2002). 

In October 2002 he was appointed as Regional Passport Officer in Mumbai, Maharashtra. 

From April 2009 he was Director at the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. 

Since July 2011 he has been Counselor at the Permanent Mission of India to World Trade Organization in Geneva.  

From August 2014 he served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of India in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.  

In August 2017 he was appointed as Joint Secretary at the National Security Council Secretariat in New Delhi. 

He speaks English, Marathi and Hindi. He is married to Mrs. Seema Kotalwar, they have son Aditya and daughter Tejal.

Ambassador-designate HE Mr. Hemant H. Kotalwar will become fully recognized Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Czech Republic after submitting his Credentials to the President of the Czech Republic His Excellency Mr. Miloš Zeman.
