Meeting of Ambassador Šrámek with the New OSCE Media Freedom Representative Ribeiro

On 17 February 2021, the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the OSCE, Ambassador Ivo Šrámek, met with the new OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Ambassador Teresa Ribeiro.
Ambassador Šrámek welcomed her appointment and stressed that media freedom for the Czech Republic remains a fundamental, unquestionable value without which democracy cannot function. In their exchange, they addressed current challenges that in many cases threaten media freedom in OSCE participating States.
