
Lucie Potůčková elected Vice-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly

Czechia raised its profile in multilateral parliamentary diplomacy as Lucie Potůčková, Member of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, got elected a Vice-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The election took place at the July 3, 2025 conclusion of the 32nd Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Porto, Portugal. The Parliamentary Assembly, established by the 1990 Paris Summit to promote greater involvement in the OSCE by national parliaments in the participating States, has seen Ms. Potůčková in active pursuit of many of its activities. These include, i. a., her recent role as Chair of the General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions.
The Vice-Presidency of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has a three-year term. Since delegates to the Assembly are appointed from among sitting members of national parliaments, it is conditional upon the continued membership in the national legislature.
