On 24 March 2021, the International Accountability Platform for Belarus (IAPB) iapbelarus.org was launched, supported by a number of OSCE participating States, including the Czech Republic.
The initiative aims to gather evidence of human rights violations in Belarus following the presidential elections in August 2020 and to preserve this evidence until possible lawsuits against the perpetrators of injustice take place. The initiative follows the recommendations of prof. Wolfgang Benedek, which were published in November 2020 in his report prepared as part of an assignment from countries (including the Czech Republic) that launched the Moscow Mechanism of the OSCE to examine the situation in Belarus.
